Retail Team Member – Multiple positions

• Location: Kitimat, BC (yáqʷa retail locations in Haisla Village: Gas Bar & Gizuá Market)
• Positions Available: Full-Time | Part-Time | Casual / On-Call
• Wage Range: $18–$22 per hour

Position Overview
Retail Team Members provide frontline service across yáqʷa-owned retail locations, including the Haisla Gas Bar and Gizuá Market. This role supports daily operations while delivering excellent customer service. All positions are responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and well-stocked retail environments. Staff may rotate between locations and shifts based on operational needs.

Position Summary
We are seeking dependable, energetic and customer-focused team members to support daily operations at Gizuá Market and Haisla Gas Bar. Staff may be scheduled at either location based on operational needs. This role is essential to maintaining excellent customer service and a clean, safe welcoming retail environment.

Key Duties

• Provide friendly customer service and process transactions
• Assist with fueling operations and follow safety procedures
• Prepare basic food items and restock merchandise
• Maintain clean store, kitchen, and washroom areas
• Monitor inventory and receive deliveries
• Operate, clean and maintain equipment (e.g., yogurt machine, fryer)
• Follow food safety and WorkSafeBC safety practices

Qualifications Required

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable and able to work evenings/weekends
• Ability to work variable shift patters including split shifts
• Ability to perform physical duties and work indoors/outdoors in variable weather conditions
• Must be able to lift 25lbs
• Must pass a criminal record check

Assets

• Retail or food service experience
• FoodSafe Level 1
• Basic computer skills
